Want to reduce your facial lines and wrinkles, especially those around the lip, nose, and chin areas? If you can't afford a dermatologist or surgeon, please read on . . . today there are new products on the market that can give you the same results, without expensive surgery or procedures.

After researching and testing many skin care products over the years for myself and my clients, I have finally found a product that really works. I can say that because I tested it on my own skin first, and it made a significant difference, in fact, I have to admit that the results I saw were did when I was in my 40's - which is over 20 years ago!

Getting the Right Treatment for Acne

Today, let’s talk about acne.

Acne is a troublesome and unsightly condition that can be conquered. While it primarily attacks teenage skin, it can be a difficult and ongoing problem for adults.

For acne suffers, there are many products and treatments to choose from, however, choosing the right one for your skin is important. Some products can leave the skin red, irritated, and even make the acne condition worse. Finding the right professional to evaluate your skin is an important first step, and in many cases, a licensed esthetician can clear your skin without the need for costly medical prescriptions or antibiotics. Getting the right treatment from a skilled professional can save many hours of time, frustration, and money.

In the world of skin care and medicine, acne is categorized as grade 1, 2, 3, or 4. Licensed estheticians in California can treat grades 1 and 2, while medical professionals, such as dermatologists, are necessary for grades 3 and 4. Depending on the severity of the condition, a licensed esthetician can be your first step to getting the right treatment, even when medical treatment is necessary initially. After a medical treatment is completed, a licensed esthetician can provide a long-term skin care program to maintain the skin to keep it clear and healthy.

For example, I have a client in her mid-30's who first came to me for electrolysis. She had adult acne and taken a prescription for acne called Accutane. To her, it appeared that her skin only broke out before her menses. Not so. Every time I saw her for electrolysis, which was every two weeks, she had pimples on her face.

Eventually we started talking about skin care, and I started giving her facials to deep cleanse and balance her skin. After her first facial, I gave her a mineral cream to use during the day and another one for night time, which was also an anti-aging cream. The night cream worked to balance the oil glands, a primary key to clearing up acne. When oil glands are balanced, they do not over produce sebum and congest the follicle and cause pimples. Mineral creams aid by healing and feeding the skin, giving the vitamins and minerals needed. In addition to all of this, this young woman also had dry skin.

Two weeks after her facial, my client was back in the office and her face was bright, glowing and pimple-free. Her skin texture had softened, her pores had refined, and the overall health of her skin had dramatically improved. The comedones that were once prevalent all over her face, were reduced and easier to extract.

The day cream began healing her skin, feeding her skin minerals and vitamins that are essential for healthy skin. The results were miraculous. Her skin softened, her coloring had improved, and her skin began to shine. This is the sign of healed healthy skin. The results for her included not only a clear complexion, but a lightening in the color of the skin, and a healthy glow.

While the medical treatment improved her acne, when it was over, her skin needed a long-term maintenance program to keep it clear. Over time, this woman's dry skin will remain balanced and healed, provided she is consistent with her skin care program to maintain the health and beauty of her skin. The mineral creams are a primary key to this process, and work on all skin types. The minerals make the vitamins work to their optimum and heal the skin. But, only ionized minerals are bio-available to the skin, and actually work, so it is important to choose the right products – and the right professional to care for your skin.

Thanks,
Rita

Skin Care for All Ages

Hello, I am Rita Katzman, a skin care specialist, and one of the best kept secrets in Santa Monica, California.

After many years of suffering with my own skin problems, and trying treatments and products that didn’t work, I became a licensed esthetician. I want to share my experiences and successes with you, and give you tips on how to better take care of your skin. My goal is to help you better understand your skin, anti-aging, beauty treatments, product ingredients, and keep you up to date with some of the latest research and developments.

I welcome you to my blog – a journey of truth into skin care.

During the day, I am the owner of Surface Skin Care, where my focus is on improving the health of the skin, and providing treatments that are effective, affordable, and gentle to your skin. I only use the finest products and ingredients, and am always in search of new answers and secrets to achieving beautiful skin. I attend many seminars and read everything I can about skin care and how I can be the best for my clients. In regards to my beliefs about skin care, I am not one to follow fads, just one who wants the facts on what really works.

My own skin problems – acne, rosacea, and oily skin, began as a teenager and continued into my adult life. While heredity plays an important role in determining your skin, mine was not good to me, and my self-esteem suffered. It made my mother feel guilty and she finally took me to a top dermatologist who eventually was able to clear my skin with prescription products. However, these products left my face red and looking sun-burned all the time. My face was so dry and tight that on some days it actually looked "scrunched" when I looked at myself in the mirror. During my days as a teenager, I realized that healthy skin and medical science didn't really mingle -- and in my case, it was a compromise.

Achieving a lifetime of beautiful, healthy skin begins with the right ingredients.

My mother, like most at that time, was not that sophisticated or knowledgeable about skin care. As an adult, I became interested in skin care and learned more about products. I started working for a doctor as a medical assistant, and one day his wife gave me a gift certificate for Aida Grey - a renowned esthetician in Beverly Hills. Wow, did that open my eyes! It was my first major introduction to skin care and such a learning experience. Aida Grey’s estheticians knew what to do for my skin and it improved. They taught me that my skin could indeed be healed without any caustic or invasive procedures, and their treatments worked. My skin felt healthy, looked good, and continued to improve and smoothly heal itself.

Today, there are many ways to treat skin conditions and a choice of products with ingredients that are gentle and effective. My approach is to personalize for each person and teach them how to maintain the health and beauty of their skin at all ages of their life.

Have a great skin day, and remember to cleanse your skin every night!
